Richardson Cup Semi-Final Success

This weekend was a good one for Bon Accord. On Saturday we beat Edinburgh West 4-4 (on tiebreak!) in the semi finals of the Richardson cup. It was a match that could easily have gone either way:

1. CM Adam Bremner (w) 1/2 – 1/2 GM Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant
2.Hamish Olson (b)1-0 Jonathan Grant
3.Sean Gordon (b) 1-0 George Neave
4.Bob Lothian (w) 0 – 1 Neil Farrell
5.Daniel Maxwell (w) 0 -1 Walter Buchanan
6.Richard Jennings (b) 0 -1 Ian McLean
7.Neil Irving (b) 1/2-1/2 John Watkins
8.Tariq Pasha 1-0 Kevin Mayo

Kudos to Tariq for his richardson debut – excellent game by him. Again – don’t ask about the colour scheme but that’s the way the organisers want it!

My (Hamish’s) game can be found at this link https://lichess.org/rwLOwCFW/black
We were out of theory by move 3 by which stage both sides had pushed their h-pawns, and it didn’t get any more normal! (I was black!)

On to the final which is on the 14th April in Grangemouth at 1pm against Glasgow Polytechnic.
