SNCL Final Standings and Ken Stewart Memorial Results

In Division 1 on our first attempt the A team came second and were contending for first place the whole way:

Congratulations to Dundee City for a convincing victory (again!)

 

In Division 4 our B team performed very creditably, coming equal second and only just missing out on promotion:

In the Ken Stewart Memorial Team Lightning the A team won their preliminary section conceding only a 2-2 draw to Cathcart:

In the final we drifted to mid-table mediocrity in the top section, getting hammered by Hamilton in round 1 and never really recovering:

The B-team also performed creditably. They were stuck with an extremely tough preliminary section:

In their final section they really excelled, coming second:

We did not manage to get our full team out against Edinburgh this weekend and they did and it showed:

Thanks to Castlehill Chess Club for letting us share a venue – the lovely Dundee University Chaplaincy. They had a similar experience to us – “coming second” to a very strong Cathcart side with only one win – Declan Shafi upset Roddy McKay with a very nice attacking win that can be seen here:
